Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Applied Teaming, LLC ("we," "us") about your use of Applied Teaming (the "Service").

How we handle your information is covered by our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. Anything about data collection, visibility, or deletion lives there, not here.

1. Accepting these terms, and who can use the Service

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.

You must be at least 18 years old.

If you are taking part through a research study at your institution, the study's consent form and protocol may also apply to you, and where they conflict with these terms, they govern.

2. Your account

Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep it current.
Keep your password or sign in credentials secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
One account per person. Do not share an account or let someone else use yours.
Tell us at platform@appliedteaming.com if you think someone else has gained access to your account.

3. What the Service is, and what it is not

Applied Teaming is an educational and reflective tool. It helps you record what you are learning, reflect on it, work with a team, and see how it connects to possible directions.

It is not:

a grading system, or any part of your grade;
an academic record, transcript, or credential;
career, academic, psychological, or medical counseling or advice;
a background check, screening, or employment decision product;
a system that makes decisions about you.

Nothing you write in Applied Teaming determines your grade, your credit, your admission anywhere, or your employment. Instructors see aggregate views of a class or team, not your individual reflections. See the Privacy Policy for exactly who can see what.

4. What you write, and what we may do with it

You own what you write and upload. Your reflections, your résumé, your feedback, and your profile are yours.

To run the Service, you give us a limited, non exclusive license to store, host, process, and display that content to the people described in the Privacy Policy, and to generate derived summaries, themes, and suggestions from it. This license exists only so that we can operate and improve the Service. It ends when your content is deleted, except for content shared by design as described in the Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your content, use it for advertising, or make it public.

5. Peer feedback and conduct

Peer feedback is a core part of the Service, and it only works if people can trust it.

When you write feedback about a teammate:

keep it about the work, not the person;
make it specific and constructive;
do not use it to harass, demean, or retaliate.

Across the whole Service, do not post content that harasses or threatens anyone, that is discriminatory or hateful, or that shares someone else's private information without their permission.

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

6. Acceptable use

Do not:

try to re identify individuals from aggregate class or team data. The aggregate views exist precisely so that individual students stay anonymous, and attempting to work backwards from them to a person is a serious violation of these terms;
try to get around the Service's access controls, or access data that is not yours;
scrape the Service, or access it through automated or bulk means;
upload malware, or anything designed to interfere with the Service;
upload someone else's résumé or personal information without their permission;
reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service;
use the Service to break the law or your institution's policies.

7. Instructors and institutions

If you use Applied Teaming as an instructor, you can create a class, upload a roster, form teams, set checkpoints, and view aggregated class and team information.

You cannot see an individual student's reflections, checkpoint responses, or the peer feedback written about them. The Service is built so that those views return themes and distributions rather than named individual writing.

If you upload a roster, you are responsible for having the right to share those email addresses with us, and for complying with your institution's policies and applicable law when you do. If your institution has an agreement with us covering student data, that agreement governs your use in that class.

8. AI generated output

The Service uses automated analysis to produce summaries, themes, and suggestions from your writing. See the Privacy Policy for what is sent where.

This output can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. Check it before relying on it, and do not treat it as an evaluation of you or as professional advice. It is provided as is, and it never determines a grade, a credential, or any decision about you.

9. Third party reference data

The Service incorporates public occupational and educational reference information, including U.S. Department of Labor O*NET data, Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, CIP and SOC classification crosswalks, and university course catalog information.

This information is provided by its sources, is used under the terms those sources make available, and may be out of date or inaccurate. We do not guarantee it.

10. Changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may stop offering the Service. Features may change or break, and in early releases data may be reset. We will give you notice where we reasonably can, but you should not treat the Service as the only place a piece of your work exists.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using the Service at any time. To have your account and its contents deleted, email platform@appliedteaming.com. The Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data and how long it takes.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering the Service. Where we reasonably can, we will give you notice and a chance to retrieve your content.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error free, or that the information it produces will be accurate.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (USD 100), or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.

14. Your responsibility for misuse

You are responsible for claims arising from content you upload that you had no right to upload, and from your deliberate misuse of the Service, including any attempt to re identify individuals from aggregate data (Section 6).

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If the changes are material, we will notify you by email or in the Service before they take effect, and continuing to use the Service after that means you accept them.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Applied Teaming, LLC is organized, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Any dispute relating to these terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in that state, and you and we consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
